Authority

"Praise the Lord for the power of the truth and how it sets us free (John 8:32). The only power that Satan has is the power of deception, and the worst thing about deception is that you don’t know you’re being deceived. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be deception. Once the truth is received, deception loses all its power. Therefore, Satan loses all his power when we know the truth." -Andrew Womack

AUTHORITY according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary definition is...

a: power to influence or command thought, opinion, or behavior b: freedom granted by one in authority (Who gave you the authority to do as you wish?) c: persons in command; specifically, governs the local authorities of each state d: corporation or governmental agency to administer the total income produced by a given source

Heaven is limitless!!!

Greek definition of Authority:

EXOUSIA

a: power, authority, weight, especially moral authority, influence

b: in a quasi-personal sense, derived from later Judaism, of a spiritual power, and hence of an earthly power

authority, conferred power; delegated empowerment ("authorization"), operating in a designated jurisdiction.

By God's initial design of His creation of mankind, we have always had authority and were intended to have authority for eternity.

Genesis 1:28 (NIV)

God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

We were literally made to rule, command and reign. We handed over that authority temporarily to the kingdom of darkness. Through legal right, Jesus bought back what mankind gave away. In other words, He redeemed us. It was legally taken and therefore had to be legally returned. Of course, our God does more than we can ask for or imagine, so He decided not only to give us what we lost, but also handed over the keys to hell&death, as well as seating us with Him in heaven at the right hand of the Father.

Matthew 28:18 (NIV)

Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

John 17:18 (NKJV)

As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world.

John 20:21 (NKJV)

So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

Paul goes so far as to say “be imitators of me as I am an imitator of Christ” 1 Corinthians 11:1 (NKJV) and Jesus says “I never do anything the Father has not done and I do not say anything the Father has not said.”John 5:19-24 By the law of transitive property, we can surmise that if we attempt to imitate one who imitates Christ, and Christ imitates God the Father, then we are imitating God. We are then truly God-like, like God. The authority-giver made us to be authority-users.

This is what authority activated looks like:

1. Submission to THE Ultimate Authority! - If the AUTHORITY of JESUS is not accepted and yielded to, then the authority that should be yours will not be evident in your life! GOD'S WORD and HOLY SPIRIT must be the ruling authorities of, in, and through your life to move in the fullness of the manifestation of the Authority delegated to you by CHRIST JESUS!

2. Honoring God's word on Authority - If you cannot honor what is seen, then you will never be able to honor and submit to what you cannot see!

3. You have authority over what you LOVE. - Faith is connected to Authority because FAITH WORKS by LOVE! The number one arena you should have authority over, the one place in ourselves that determines the results everywhere else is this one thing: your thoughts! A righteous thought life is the cornerstone to maintaining consistent manifestation of God’s best in your life. Proverbs 23:7 very clearly states that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. What kinds of thoughts do you invest in? What do you meditate on? These thoughts will guide your words and actions, so think carefully about what you think often about, and choose to think heavenly thoughts rather than earthly ones.

Practical application - When do thoughts begin? When we wake up!

What do you do when you first wake up? If you do NOTHING, or rather THINK nothing, then you will default to the feelings of your body and soul. The launchpad in which you take off from will be unstable and inadequate. Good luck flying high with an insufficient foundation. You MUST CHOOSE to come into agreement with the feelings of eternal life in order to hope to have a day that glorifies God properly and sanctifies you thoroughly. Choose to SET YOUR MIND on things above rather than on earthly things. The more you agree with God in your mind, then the more you will agree with God in your words. The more you agree with God in your words, then the more heaven you will create by your decree and walk! He will be watching you as HIS WORD to perform in, on, around, and through you. It is simple math that anyone can do, but just like actual arithmetic will not do itself, spiritual-mind math is not automatic either. It's YOUR job, not God's, to set YOUR mind. What will you choose to set your mind on today?
